Looking for an EasyMoza Alternative? Here's an Honest Take

Let's start with credit where it's due: EasyMoza is a perfectly good tool. It's been around for years, it's free to try, there's no account signup, and at €5.95–€9.95 for a high-res file it's the cheapest way to get a printable photo mosaic on the internet. If that's all you need, use it — genuinely.

But there are a few reasons people go looking for an alternative, and they usually come down to the same three things.

1. The tiles blur together up close

EasyMoza uses the classic colour-tinting approach: your small photos are washed with the colour of the big image so the mosaic "resolves" from a distance. The trade-off is that up close — which is where everyone actually looks first — the individual photos lose a lot of their identity.

getmoza's engine was built around the opposite priority: every tile stays sharp and recognisable when your nose is against the print. The big picture emerges from smart placement and gentle tone-matching rather than heavy tinting. We wrote about how to judge this in any tool — the 30-second test works on our mosaics too, so check us with the same skepticism.

2. There's no print service

EasyMoza gives you a JPG; printing is your problem. That's fine if you have a trusted print shop, but a mosaic is an unusual print job — huge file, fine detail, quality lives or dies on the lab.

getmoza prints in-house through a German fine-art lab: paper from €39, canvas from €79, aluminum from €109, acrylic glass from €199, gallery frames from €315, shipped across Europe, the UK, North America and Oceania. Every print order is reviewed and hand-finished by our studio before production — a person checks the tile placement and face detail, not just an algorithm.

3. Uploading 100 photos one by one is a chore

If your tile photos live on Instagram, getmoza can pull them automatically — type a public handle and the grid comes in. No other mosaic maker does this.

Try both — it costs nothing

The nice thing about this category is that previews are free everywhere. Build the same mosaic in both tools, zoom into a face on each, and pick the one you'd want on your wall. Start yours on getmoza — 25+ photos or an Instagram handle, preview in about two minutes. The photo mosaic maker page walks through the whole flow if you'd rather read first.
